Choose WAFF
Posted by Rachael Dean on

WAFF is dedicated to delivering the news to the great city of Huntsville and beyond! The morning shift starts at 4am to do just that! I've never worked in a more organized and determined work enviroment in my life. Alot goes on behind the sceens and its a very hard job keeping up with everything.. but these wonderful people manage to pull it off no matter how early, how late, or how confusing it all gets! Considering no eating establishments are open at such an early AM.. We dont get a chance to grab a REAL breakfast much.. =] It would be most awesome if we could be bestowed such an awesome gift! God Bless and Always, God be with You All in the WAY-FM staff!!

Posted by Mallory Crafton on

I am only a student doing my internship at Huntsville Pool and Land Therapy - but this group is so deserving of a free lunch. These therapists truly make the effort to know each patient they treat - going above and beyond 100% of the time. Often the patients come here after nothing else has worked, and they feel like giving up. How awesome for them to have people to encourage them and cheer over each accomplishment they make with them. I do not know any other therapy company in town that offers each patient their BEST effort every single day.

The Wonderful Family I work for
Posted by Allison- Borden Market Shoppe on

I'm Allison Chandler and I know attend Auburn University but I have worked for the Borden about 2 years now, one full time during highschool and one when I was home from Auburn on breaks. I know that WayFM advertises Borden Pharamacy and Market Shoppe on the air so im not sure if that disqualifies us from being able to receive this or that fact that we operate our of Cullman, instead of Birmingham. But, I thought it was a great opportunity for me to express my gradtitude for this wonderful family. I have enjoyed every minute of working for this family and the coworkers. The Bordens uphold the best costumer values I have ever seen. They enjoy what they do and inturn that makes all the employees enjoy their jobs. Not only do the Bordens have outstanding values in the work place, they also do within their own family. You can see the kind of Christian influence they have when teaching their kids morals or just being a friend to all their employees. They have the perfect balance of how to have authority without having an authoritarian leadership style. They are authoritative because we have rules they the "Borden Family"(employees) must live by but they don't dictate and expect us to be perfect. When I went off to college, they didn't leave me behind. When you work for the Bordens you become apart of them, even when you leave they dont forget you.I kept in touch on frequent basis althroughout my first year of college and I read the bible that Kami (my boss) gave me as a graduation present. From the moment I was hired they have been one of the greatest influences in my life. Like I said I'm not sure if because you advertise us I can actually nominate us for this but I wanted to jump on the opportunity to tell everyone about the wonderful family I have been blessed to work for.

Just wanted to comment on my work place. We are a sponsor for the radio station and have been lucky enough to win breakfast thanks to your wonderful station once before and it was such a blessing. I am so thankful for your station. it keeps Jesus in my office all day listening while I work via the internet. Thankyou for that! Our office has experianced it seems more sadness in the last few months than one office can seem to have. God has been great and he has delivered me thru things I can't beleive. I feel like a treat like lunch would do this office some good. Thru my difficulties God shows up thru people that care and I think this office needs a reminder that God loves them and these difficulties will pass. Thankyou for your consideration.

Why lunch for the vendor crowd would be a blessing
Posted by Vicki Stickels/Earth Gems Jewe on

I work at Redstone Arsenal as a jewelry vendor. Most of the people I work with are not Christian, but know that I am. A lot of them are much younger than me (50), but I believe would be thrilled if a Christian Radio stationed and its sponsors brought lunch to the base. Many probably don't even know there is a Christian radio station that plays really neat music. I have such a burden for these people especially a lot of the younger vendors at the base. Many of us vendors work hard at selling our wares, dealing with all kinds of customers, and most of us receive very few perks if any since most of us are self-employed. I feel like this would show Christian kindness to them and maybe open doors for them to investigate an area they probably have never thought of--being Christian radio & music....hopefully leading them to accepting the Lord. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

The people I work w/ are an awesome bunch of people and we do a lot to keep our troops supported out in the field. I also am blessed to work some really awesome Christians and some that aren't. My goal is to be the best witness God wants me to be, and that people will realize that I am perfect, and I am no different than they are but I have Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour.

Posted by Talia Urias on

I have worked at this company for only a couple of months and already feel really blessed. This company consists of striving, God fearing, and compassionate young women. They have taught me a lot of things and especially that no matter what, God is always there for you! I have pulled away from the church for a while, and working here I have seen all the wonderful things God has done for these ladies. Not only in their testimonies but in their way of living and going about their everyday life routine. I think that wining the breakfast would show them how much of a blessing they have been to me and the impact they have on my life.

Were a family owned business for over 43 years in the Trinity/Decatur area that believes in putting God 1st & helping our fellow Americans. There are 9 of us here on a daily basis (sales, warehouse & tech). There are 3 generations working here! All of our workers give 200% on a daily basis & it would be nice to reward them with a free meal since the sales people are normally so busy that they have no time to grab lunch or eat around 4! We enjoy your station & the uplifting music/messages. Have a blessed week! :)

Thank you for such a wonderful message to listen to on the way to work! I have asked that you pick the staff at SAS Redstone for free lunch Friday. They have cared for my child for many years now and you have never seen such a loving, Christian group of people. Sometimes I think they love our children as much as we do. :) I have watched one woman go through a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. She still meets the children at the door with a smile and a hug. All of the staff, Ms. Ashley, Mr. Robert, Ms. Mary, Ms. Janice, Ms. Laquida, Ms. Kim, "Coach" and so many others. They care for children who are upset their parents are deployed and love what they do. It shows. Blessings to you all!

So many times teachers are only acknowledged for the bad things that happen. No one ever praises teachers for the good things they do, only the bad! The good far outweighs the bad. I meant to leave a comment on this earlier but didn't realize this space was for the lunch entry. I am a fifth grade teacher at Athens Intermediate School. I heard about this on the radio and really wanted to enter. It is rare that teachers get more than 15-20 minutes to eat lunch, and that's if there are no check outs, discipline issues, etc. during lunch. I listen to WAYFM every single day on my commute from Decatur to Athens. It simply puts my mind in the right place each day. I would LOVE to win this lunch for my fellow teachers. Good Morning, I listen to ya'll in the morning on my work...very early! Anyway, this is in reference to the work place lunch. I want you to know why I even entered the contest. I work with the most amazing people, let me explain. I am the breast health specialist at Huntsville Hospital Breast Center. I counsel with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. In doing this job I come across many young ladies with small children who have very little or no support, single women who live far away from families, or even elderly patients with no family. I can tell you breast cancer is not a pink ribbon and it is a very long and difficult journey, even with support. The women here at the breast center have answered my call for help with the ladies over and over. They have provided dinners for them, lunches for them and for the past two years have provided christmas presents for at least four different women whose children otherwise may not have had much Christmas. I know this often puts a financial strain on some of them as well yet they do it. The employees her at the breast center are always so nice to the women coming to the breast center and they always follow up with the patients with me when they know I have had to counsel a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient. I just love the people and would like so much for them to be recognized. We have many more employees than ten but in the event we win the contest, I will gladly provide the rest of the lunch! Thank you so much and God Bless!

I work with 5 amazing ladies that love the Lord and I would love to see them treated with a wonderful lunch from Jason's Deli. I know it is a good drive out this way but I promise you it will be well worth the drive to get the honor of meeting these fantastic women.

Posted by Michelle Mardis on

I have just recently been blessed with a new job in a great dept with is an answered prayer since because I was in a difficult one. I do have to drive 40 min to and from work but I don't mind since I drive into an area where I can pick up WAY FM. I love listening to the uplifting music and the Wally show, it sets the tone for my whole day. I would love to win this lunch and be a blessing to my new co-workers who have been awesome welcoming the "new girl". thanks and God Bless You

I listen to your radio station hoping that it will be a witness to the guys who are not Christians.

I listen to your station at work. I want the guys to hear the great songs with such powerful words. I try to witness to them by entering the contests.

I work at PACE, an alternative school setting for at -risk students. We provide a smaller environment for students that need more one-to-one interation to help them improve academically, socially, and emotionally which leads to their greater success. I am a social worker at this school and I am in contact with numerous students and parents daily. So many students that I meet with each day, I am able to give a piece of hope to that their life can be different no matter what their past has been. I am proud to be part of a team that is able to take the child that has been forgotten and help to rebuild their self-esteem and courage to take on the world! IT is a very stressful but rewarding job to work with students with behavioral and emotional needs constantly. God has definitely given me a passion to help at-risk youth! This drives me each day and I feel that this is my mission in life! Please consider our small, but important school, a winner for Free Lunch Friday.
